Where do I Start-might be your first question?

Understanding how confusing living on your own can be it can also be very exciting! We will start with the pantry/cabinet staples you will need. They are basic, simple every day spices. Iodized Salt (Morton), Black Pepper (Any brand), parsley, basil, thyme, oregano, onion powder, Cinnamon, Pure Vanilla Extract (not imitation). *Note: Many of these items can be purchased at your local Dollar General Stores Nationwide-you do not need to spend extra money on name brands such as McCormick’s spices!!!I myself have an herb garden year round. If I need a particular spice I will definitely check my Dollar General Store first! I encourage you to do the same. Today, we are attempting to help you start on just the basics. You can add spices as we go along this journey together.
Refrigerated Items: Milk (buy only what you will need in a week). Dozen eggs (large), many times I have seen Walgreen’s, CVS, Dollar Store have fresh eggs on sale cheaper than your local grocery store chains. Butter one pound (4 sticks) you can freeze butter! Ketchup (your favorite or store brand), Mayonnaise, mustard. Canola oil, Olive Oil. White distilled vinegar. Salad Dressings can be homemade and we will get into that later. Yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, block (8 ounces) cheese (your favorite), mozzarella cheese (whole), cream cheese. We will get into making flavored specialty butters later on. If you do not like cottage cheese do not purchase it, same for sour cream, cream cheese or yogurt. I will close wishing you “Good Health”. cheffie cooks easy…1-2-3.
